In fearful day, in raging night,
With strong hearts full, our souls ignite,
When all seems lost in the War of Light,
Look to the stars-- For hope burns bright!

This is not an Ode

some times, death doesnt knock on your door, instead, she jumps through the window like an unwelcomed guest, she storms through the house in search for the one, checks her list to make sure she is right, puts him/her in the bag and walks out through the front door, doesnt pay for the broken window or the broken souls, and how to stop her if the doctors wont help, the medicine is nowhere to be found, and time isnt slowing down.

He stumbled in his last steps, every now and then a fall, he would get up and keep walking

He made fun of me for breaking my arm when i fell jumping a fence, because he had fallen from a three story building cutting mangoes from a tree, passed out and woken up with no injuries

He had survived gunshots, throat cancer, prison, poverty, richness and a broken heart

He had promised me a horse, he said he would bring it to me when i turned 8

I still wait for that horse

They say all that was possible was done, I dare say I dont believe them, He was my dad’s Hero, he was my Hero too, he had his own song and It was quite popular in his home town, telling the story of a brave man avenging his brother’s death and protecting a young girl from a gang

He was the vigilante I will never get to be

The gunslinger I never had to be

The horserider I never managed to be

The ladiesman, the loved one, the immortal protector

The hunter, the king, the president’s friend

The town’s go to guy

He would help out anyone in need

He was a superhero without the need of a costume

He never wore a mask

Never hid who he was,

a powerful man like no other one I’ve met, power built on a code of Honor and Respect, not build on fear. He was a respectable man, with flaws and drifts, but in the end, a good Man, a man I love, my grandfather.

May you rest in peace
